Massage is mending and maintenance and marvellous.

For many, people it is a lifetime commitment in pursuit of mental and physical wellbeing.

Massage keeps you moving, active, to enjoy the good things in life, to enjoy friends, to enjoy physical and mental challenges, to enjoy theatre, restaurants, to travel.

Just like good nutrition, massage is a base for all activity and a springboard to energy.

Therapists vary, so it may take time to find a therapist that is right for you but once you do your patience will be rewarded over and over.

Glenferrie Sports and Spinal Clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinic that includes remedial massage.

Our therapists are fully qualified and registered.  All  are able to get rebates from national Health Insurers. So start your search with us, maybe we can be your springboard.

When do I need a massage?

There are plenty of reasons why you should get regular massages. There is also just because. You don’t need a reason to treat yourself after all.

If you are feeling tight, sore, stressed, tired or even if you just feel like getting one, then it’s probably just what you need.

Deep tissue massage is best suited for people who engage in highly physical activities, such as running, or those who have an injury or chronic pain.

If you have a low pain threshold or are looking for relief of tense muscles, Swedish or relaxation massage is gentler and may be a better option.

How often should I get a massage?

The answer depends on your pain and physical needs, your stress and emotional needs, and of course, your budget.

Receiving massage regularly will have the most benefit.

Once a week, or every two weeks would be ideal, but may not be realistic for every person.
